Information about the Coventry and District Branch of the British Cactus and Succulent Society.

Do you live in Coventry or the surrounding area and have an interest in growing Cacti and Succulents. These pages are maintained to provide information for people who live in the above area who may be interested in growing this group of fascinating plants and would like to find out more, or maybe attend local branch meetings or events. Coventry & District Branch is one of over a hundred branches of the British Cactus and Succulent Society. The BCSS has nearly 4000 members in the UK and overseas, who share a common interest in cacti and other succulent plants. Membership is open to all and brings with it the opportunity to partake in all Society activities.

Coventry & District Branch has been in existence since 1947 and provides a local focus for enthusiasts. Monthly meetings are held in Stoke St. Michael's Social Centre, Walsgrave Road, Coventry, normally on the third Friday of the month, commencing at 7.30 pm. The meeting usually takes the form of an illustrated talk by a visiting speaker, and the range of topics is as wide as that contained in the Journal. A sales table provides the opportunity to purchase plants and horticultural sundries at attractive prices. There are open evenings when members open their collection to fellow enthusiasts, organized visits to botanical gardens and specialist nurseries (including an annual five day trip to the Continent), an annual show and other social events.
If you feel that we might have something to offer you, come along to one of our meetings - without obligation of course!
